Knock knock. Who’s there? The Trump campaign.
The Trump campaign has once again started in-person campaign events. They recently announced they will be knocking on doors and doing meetups in Ohio. This is reckless and needlessly puts the health and safety of Ohioans at risk.
This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, coming from the person who refuses to wear a mask and gutted the country’s pandemic response team. Trump couldn’t make it any more obvious he doesn’t care about the people of Ohio. He will do anything to get re-elected, including carelessly putting the American people’s lives in danger.
Ohio House Democrats, on the other hand, are using tactics that prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including digital organizing, phone banking, and sending mail to voters, just to name a few. Our candidates are doing this so that we don’t jeopardize their health, nor the health of staff, volunteers, or voters.
We can still run strong, competitive campaigns that are informed by the recommendations of public health experts. By doing this, we prioritize you and your family’s well-being and can still reach Ohioans to talk about the issues that are facing our communities.
Ohio is a battleground state, we know it and so do you. If it wasn’t, Ohio Republicans and the Trump campaign wouldn’t bother spending a ton of money or putting organizers on the ground (even when it risks spreading a global pandemic).
