Meet the Candidate: Representative Phil Robinson

My name is Phil Robinson, State Representative for House District 6 in Northeast Ohio. It’s such a pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce, and maybe to some of you, reintroduce myself to you all.

As you know, there’s a lot going on in our world right now. To some degree, I think we’ve all been affected- whether it’s been wearing a mask to the grocery store, helping our kids with Zoom meetings, or having conversations about race around the dinner table, it’s been a hard, trying year for so many of us. Yet, through this struggle, I’ve seen our state rally behind science and empathy, behind leaders such as Dr. Amy Acton, and behind our healthcare workers on the front line. These acts of selflessness give me hope and courage that we will continue to rise to the challenges before us. After all, it’s what we do in Northeast Ohio.

That being said, we’ve learned a lot these past few months. And what has become crystal clear is how important a well-functioning, competent government is- at federal level of course, but also at our state and local levels. We need ethical, practical leaders in Columbus that work for you and not big money interests. As a former Executive for City Year, former Fortune 500 marketing consultant, and Northeast Ohio native, I’ve seen firsthand the needs of my community and how policy can give them the opportunity they deserve to live, work, and return with dignity.

That’s what I’ve tried to do these past two years. When voters elected me in 2018, I promised to fight for quality education, affordable healthcare, and more local funding for city governments. And despite partisan efforts to stop us, we did just that. But the fight continues; it is critical that we hold this seat in November to bring responsible leadership to Columbus.

It’s an honor every day to serve the community of House District 6 and with your help, we’ll get 2 more years to continue doing so.
